Cumberland Falls “Niagara of the South”

And Big South Fork Scenic Railway

1st Day: Upon arrival in Cumberland Falls, KY, we will check into our home for the night. This afternoon we will visit Cumberland Falls, located in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Known as the “Niagara of the South,” the waterfall forms a 125-foot wide curtain that plunges 60 feet into the boulder-strewn gorge below. The mist of Cumberland Falls creates the magic of the Moonbow, only visible on a clear night during a full moon. This unique phenomenon appears nowhere else in the Western Hemisphere.  Dinner is also included at the Cumberland Falls Lodge tonight. (D)

2nd Day: After breakfast, we will head to Historic Stearns, KY for an adventurous 3-hour, 7 mile round-trip excursion aboard the Big South Fork Scenic Railway. Follow along with breathtaking views of the Daniel Boone National Forest and the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, enjoy wide open vistas, roaring rivers, and the history and charm of the American South with a stop at Barthell Coal Camp. (Note: The train has covered, open-air cars.) A box lunch is included on the train. After the tour we will board the coach for our return trip. Arriving back approximately 11:00 PM. (B, BL)

Special Notice: Balance due 30 days prior to departure. Cancellation within 30 days of departure will result in payment forfeiture
